PPF Outing 2012 Final Confirmation and Downpayment

^To be fair to everybody, walang proxy selection. Although wala namang difference yan, nangyayari lang kasi is, the power to choose will basically fall into the hands of just 6 people (yung proxies) and so, defeats the purpose of going first-come, first-serve. Pareho lang naman sila, ang kaso lang is, it doesn't look fair for everyone.

Kasi Ser, pano kung maisipan kong pumili ng kama sa kwarto mo?

Mas magandang ibigay natin ang choice dun sa tao mismo. Syempre, ok yung kasama mo yung mga kakilala mo talaga. Pareho pa din naman sya, kasi you can only control the outcomes up to a certain point. Ayaw lang namin yung parang mangyayari, iilang tao lang ang mamimili kasi magiging pointless na yung order ng bayaran. Coordinate kayo with the people you want, but let's keep it fair for everyone.

I guess that's not too much to ask, is it? Para me element of excitement din.

Onga pala, me naisip din kami ni Dee kanina: Since by the 17th, tapos na ang selection process, why not gawin nating game yung room assignments?

As stated by Habs earlier me maa-assign na representatives kada room to serve as point persons. So gagawin natin, paglalaruin natin sila for the chance to end up in the "Losers' Room", which is yung forever alone na kwarto sa ground level.

Also, sa akin lang. Bali wala sa akin kahit sino kasama ko sa kwarto. Naiisip ko pa nga minsan, kahit sino kasama ko ayun sa order na pilian na kwarto eh okay lang. Para hindi yung gusto ko lang parati yung kasama ko. Tutal, okay naman tayo sa company ng lahat, diba?

Um, I was asking just for the convenience of the people na hindi masyadong naglologin sa site. I'll go tell them na lang when it's their turn kung bawal proxy.

Also, if I'm coming out as if I'm trying to game the system, then I'd like to say I'm not. Yes, we have room preferences pero rules are rules.

Anyway, last question. After the selection pricess is finished, pwede naman siguro makipagdeal ng palitan di ba kung willing naman both parties?

^Nothing wrong with the point that you brought up. As I said, wala namang difference yan kasi control is only up to a certain point. Di lang kasi sya maganda tignan in terms of fairness.

Di ka din naman namin masisisi, programmer ka Ser eh, so that way of thinking comes with the territory. Actually na-overlook nga namin yan, kasi focused kami sa manual method lang. Don't worry, walang masama dun. Ok nga dahil na-bring up mo eh, at least, malinaw sa lahat.

Isa pa kasing gusto namin is, maging active yung mga tao sa iba't ibang aspects ng outing, lalo na sa planning. Kung proxy system yan, programmed na lahat na isa lang ang gagawa para sa apat. Gusto namin, aware parati lahat ng sasama sa mga nangyayari.

So yeah, convenience-wise, FCFS IS more time-consuming. Ang justifications lang natin for ditching proxies are for fairness and participation.

Regarding swaps, once nakapili na ang tao, DI NA PWEDE. We can coordinate with each other privately before selecting, pero yun nga, swertihan pa din.

Points taken. Pull out muna yung plans for selection. Ngayun, pinag-iisipan namin ni Habs kung papano natin magagawang fun and efficient yet fair yung pilian. Update ko to once we come to an agreement.

Nag-meeting kami nina Habs at Sketch kanina to discuss the matter of room and bed selection. So far eto ang napag-usapan namin:

As said earlier, yung concern ni Edd regarding proxy selections (choosing a slot on behalf of another person), it's basically inherent to the system itself, and there is no real effect whether we allow proxies or not. With this, we are allowing proxy selections, pero hindi sya applicable for selections done in advance of the masterlist order (meaning, ang pede lang mag-proxy sa isang tao ay yung nauna sa kanya, di pede yung ipo-proxy mo yung isang taong nauuna sayo sa queue). No difference as stated before sa FCFS, so ok na yan, para mabilis din tayo sa pilian ng groupings.

Now comes the matter regarding ROOM ASSIGNMENTS. Ang naisip namin, bibigyan namin kayo ng choice if you kids want it SERIOUS or if you want it FUN:

Door #1 - Straight selection of rooms, so you select SPECIFIC SLOTS and SPECIFIC ROOMS. Referring to the previous posts, eto ang layout ng rooms:

Room 1 - Only room at ground level; beside the building's stairwell and nearest to the pool area
Room 2 - First room at 2nd level; directly above Room 1 and beside the building's stairwell
Room 3 - Next room beside Room 2; 2nd level
Room 4 - Next room beside Room 3; 2nd level middle room
Room 5 - Next room beside Room 4; 2nd level
Room 6 - Next room beside Room 5; last room at 2nd level

or

Door #2 - Group selections only. Reps will then be selected per group, after which maglalaro sila ng bunutan sa Kuhala mismo. Rep/group who pulls the shortest stick will be forced to occupy Room 1, ang forever alone na kwarto sa ibaba.

Either way, just indicate which room/group you want to select, then kung Choice 1, indicate nyo yung room number na gusto nyo, and if Choice 2, omit the room number. That way, malalaman natin sa isang bagsakan lang kung Door #1 or Door #2 tayo.

Ok na ba yan? At least we're giving you guys the choice if you want to have a little fun with it or not. Of course, majority wins so mag-usap-usap na kayo kung ano ang gusto ninyo.

Paul: Wala namang difference sa chances mo ending up with the people you want to share a room with, either way you vote. Ang point lang nung #1 at #2, kung gusto mong determined na agad ang kwartong pupuntahan nyo, or if you're leaving your choice of room to chance.
